What Happens When A Water Heater Isn’t Replaced Or Repaired?
Understandably, people put off seeking a water heater replacement or repair. They either haven’t yet noticed the decrease in hot water output, any leaks or water pooling underneath. Or if they have noticed a minor leak, they believe it to be a minor inconvenience.
However, water leaking onto the flooring below is not a good thing for your home either. Even a small leak can damage walls, floors, and personal belongings, particularly if mold or mildew starts growing in the same area as the leak from the extra moisture. If the water heater goes out completely, not everyone has time to heat water up on the stove for their showers, laundry, or dishes. As for mineral sediment, there have been instances where too much mineral sediment buildup has led to water heaters exploding. As would a broken T&P valve and a bad anode rod.
